  • Over 270 people attended this, our 14th annual dinner, held in the Invincibles Lounge, Deepdale. Figures were slightly down on previous years, but that was only due to two tables being unable to attend due to holiday and work commitments. Having said that, we still had 27 tables smartly laid out in the club colours of blue and white.

As per normal, a few invited guests attended, including Bryan Douglas, the former Blackburn Rovers & England winger. He came in his capacity as Chairman of the Blackburn Rovers Former Players Association. Tommy Docherty and Billy Boston, the Wigan Rugby League legend, were down to attend but unfortunately both had to give backword at the last minute, due to illness. North End's former manager, Phil Brown, accepted our invitation to attend and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

  • By way of entertainment this year, we turned to one of our own former players to speak. Mick 'Baz' Rathbone, our latest member, spoke for well over half an hour on his career as a footballer, manager and physiotherapist. On the comedy front, we were extremely lucky to have one of the most famous comedians of our time, in Mick Miller. As expected he was excellent and it was all down to Mike King that he came along to entertain us. 'Kingy' has provided all the entertainment over the years and should be congratulated on his input into our Association.
